Shawne Merriman (b. 1984) is a former American football player who appeared with Kermit the Frog and soccer player Cobi Jones in a short segment during ESPN's 2008 ESPY awards to promote environmental awareness. Merriman was an outside linebacker for the San Diego Chargers and Buffalo Bills of the NFL.
