Shirley[1] is a pink bird with an orange beak and large plumes on her head who first appeared in the sketch "Birds in the Trees" from The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. Although she repeatedly said "You know" in the sketch, Jim Henson's original drawing indicates that her call originally was "Possibly."
Richard Hunt performed the bird in The Muppet Show episode 218, commenting on Jaye P. Morgan's bird costume in the number "Tweedle Dee".
