Smartie is a talking, animated smartphone, appearing in the Season 47 version of "Elmo's World."
She serves a similar function to the Home Video and Video E-mail sections of the past seasons, by displaying video related to the topic. Her appearances are typically scored with a ringtone version of "Elmo's Song." She often alters her screen wallpaper to reflect the specific theme of each segment. In the "Monster Edition" segments, Smartie only appears in voiceover during the video montage.
Smartie appears in the 2018 special When You Wish Upon a Pickle, where Chris (swapping bodies with Elmo with the magic of the Wish Pickle) dreams about being in Elmo's World.
