Ernie and Bert tune in to watch "Sneak Peek Previews" from their apartment. Meanwhile, Oscar begins his criticism in advance by mercilessly deprecating Telly's opening greeting. Their feature presentation is the "Song of Ten" film, which Oscar ecstatically approves for its messy climax, giving a full five "phooey" rating. Telly, however, sympathizes with the baker and rates it only two "wows."
Back at the apartment, Bert turns off the program and notices Ernie has left. Ernie, seemingly trying to emulate the baker, comes back carrying ten cakes, which turn out to be glued together. He seeks, as usual, to genially torment his best friend with the expectation of impending culinary disaster. As an argument ensues, Oscar and Telly peek through the apartment window and offer their critiques on it, turning into an argument itself.
