The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, often referred to as "The Guggenheim", is an art museum in Manhattan's Upper East Side. Established in 1937, their collection includes works by Édouard Manet, Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, and Paul Cézanne.
In February 2015, as promotion for the special The Cookie Thief, Cookie Monster spent a day visiting three New York museums -- the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. Cookie admired the building's architecture and took special notice of a Cézanne painting of food (echoing his admiration of the painter as seen in Don't Eat the Pictures).
