Ss42-Sonia Sotomayor
Season43 Sonia Sotomayor

Sonia Sotomayor (b. 1954) is a US Supreme Court Justice, appointed by Barack Obama and confirmed in 2009. She holds the distinction of being the first Hispanic (and only the third woman) to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States.

Sesame Street actor and writer Sonia Manzano wrote a segment for Sotomayor in Episode 4280 wherein she and Maria meet for coffee in the arbor, and the Justice helps Baby Bear and Goldilocks resolve a conflict over a broken chair. Sotomayor returned the following season for a segment with Abby Cadabby about careers in Episode 4307.

Manzano and Sotomayor continued to work together on several outreach programs including work with the Bronx Children's Museum,[1][2] and a book tour to promote Sotomayor's memoir My Beloved World[3] (the audiobook version of which is read by Rita Moreno).
