"Spider's Feelings" is an operatic adaptation of "The Eensy Weensy Spider" as performed by Placido Flamingo and others in Sesame Street Episode 2587.
Placido plays the narrator, with a group of kids helping out as the chorus. Bob plays the titular role, dressed in a ridiculous-looking spider costume and using the garage balcony frame as the water spout. As the spider, he feels very proud to be climbing the spout. Telly Monster reluctantly plays a cloud on the upper level of the garage, dumping a bucket of water on Bob to simulate the rain and making the spider sad. Another kid plays the sun that dries Bob the spider off (tossing him a towel). Placido and the others encourage Bob not to give up and climb up the spout again, which makes the spider happy.
The song features elements from "Vesti la giubba" from Pagliacci, "Habanera" from Carmen, "Un Bel di Vedremo" from Madame Butterfly, "Hallelujah Chorus," and "Funiculì, Funiculà."
