Spike Lee (b. 1957) is the Academy Award-winning director of such films as Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, and Jungle Fever.
Lee appeared on Sesame Street in 2000 to direct "Summer of Snuffy," a spoof of his film Summer of Sam. (First: Episode 3890) In it, Snuffy is directed to act sad when Big Bird can't play cabbage volleyball with him at the beach. Unfortunately for Lee, Snuffy's personality won't break from his happy disposition. This leaves the director frustrated enough to strap on a snuffle and play the role himself.
In 2015, Lee co-starred in a Capital One commercial with Samuel L. Jackson, Charles Barkley, Kermit the Frog, and Miss Piggy.
