Spring Cleaning is a 1980 Sesame Street storybook featuring Ernie and Bert.
One day in April, Bert informs Ernie that they will be spring cleaning that day. He sends Ernie outside with the trash while he mops the kitchen floor. But when Ernie returns, he tracks mud in on his shoes. Upset, Bert leaves Ernie to re-mop the kitchen floor while Bert waxes the living room. Making his job more run, Ernie straps brushes to his feet and skates around the flood to clean it. Deciding to work on the next room as well, he whizzes into the living room and finds the floor there is much slippery due to Bert's waxing.
Ernie's cleaning efforts continue to backfire. The dust from the rug poundings comes in the windows Bert is washing. And when Bert charges Ernie with cleaning out the hall closet, the closet looks good, but the contents are piled high in the living room.
Frustrated after more cleaning mishaps, Bert sends him off to clean the bathroom, but discovers him taking a bath with Rubber Duckie in Rosie instead. Cleaning the bathroom himself, Ernie takes a nap while Bert finishes the apartment, falling asleep next to Ernie as Ernie wakes up, excited at the great job they did with their Spring Cleaning.
