Star Comics Magazine was a digest comic book published by the Marvel Comics children's imprint Star Comics from 1986 to 1988. Similar to the Archie digest, it consisted entirely of reprints from various Star titles. Heathcliff was the most prominent character in multiple stories in every issue, while Muppet Babies were used in most issues.
The only new material was the cover art in which the various characters shared space or interacted, usually with Baby Piggy representing the Muppet Babies. Baby Kermit appeared on three covers. Issue 9, reprinting a Spider-Man crossover story from the Star original series Top Dog, depicted the wallcrawler carrying Baby Piggy, who squeals "I always loved a swinger!" while Heathcliff and Top Dog dangle from the webbing. Others featured on the covers included the Care Bears, MadBalls, Ewoks, once Freddy Flintstone (The Flintstone Kids), and for the final two issues, ALF.
Sid Jacobson, who oversaw most of the Star titles, was editor for the series, with Laura Hitchcock as assistant editor. Cover artists were not signed or credited.
