Starship Surprise is a Sesame Street sketch recorded for season 12 that spoofed the sci-fi TV series Star Trek.
A synopsis for Episode 1505 documented in the Sesame Street Script Highlights at the CTW Archives describes two Muppets named Captain Jane and Dr. McToy who land on the Moon.[1] However, neither the script for Episode 1505, nor the final cut of the episode features the segment.
40 Years of Life on the Street published a photo of the segment taken during taping with a blue screen meant to be replaced with a space background during post production. Another photo discovered on social media in June 2018[2] features a better look at the cast, including a green alien character not mentioned in the CTW description.
