
Steve McQueen (1930-1980) was an actor known for such films as The Towering Inferno, The Cincinnati Kid, The Great Escape, and The Magnificent Seven.
One of the most popular movie stars of the 1960s and 1970s, McQueen was the highest-paid star in 1974. He was nominated for numerous awards, including an Academy Award for the 1966 film The Sand Pebbles.

- In the Farscape episode "Resurrection," after jumping off a cliff in the previous episode (similarly to McQueen in Papillon), John Crichton returns to Grayza in order to distract her. Grayza accuses Crichton of trying to escape, to which Crichton responds that he's not Steve McQueen and he wasn't trying to escape (in reference to McQueen's role in The Great Escape).
