Steven Gilborn (1936-2009) was a character actor who voiced the "Sesame Street Creature Feature" announcer for the first two Sesame Street segments ("Pigs" and "Goats"). He later played Dr. Sam Litvack in the Creature Shop-effects film Dr. Dolittle.
A former college professor at MIT and other institutions, Gilborn was a familiar face in film and TV beginnning in the 1980s, often as doctors, judges, lawyers, and teachers. He played Kevin's sympathetic math teacher Mr. Collins in three episodes of The Wonder Years and recurred as Ellen's father on all five seasons of Ellen (1995-1998). Other TV guest stints include Columbo (as medical examiner George in several 1990s installments), Law & Order, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NYPD Blue, The Torkelsons, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, The West Wing, The Tick, Judging Amy, and Without a Trace, among others.
Film credits include The Brady Bunch Movie, Dunston Checks In, Alien: Resurrection (as the voice of the computer "Father"), Joyride, Private Parts, and Evolution.
