Stinky is a seagull who became a temporary pet of Oscar the Grouch in episodes 2548 and 2549 of Sesame Street.
The gull follows Oscar home from the dump and at first, he dreads being unable to rid himself of her. However, when he sees how much of an annoyance she can be to himself and others, he decides to keep her as a pet and names her Stinky. However, the following day, she flies off to join her fellow gull friends, putting Oscar in an inconsolable state.
The character resurfaced a few years later in the cold open of Episode 3132 (again performed by Robinson), seen as the surrogate parrot to Pirate Edna. The puppet would go on to be used as a stock bird puppet for various scenes, most notably as Big Bird's penpal Gulliver. The puppet first appeared in Episode 2442 (performed by Richard Hunt).
