Summer Squall is the world's fastest race horse. She appears in Episode 3166 of Sesame Street, where she pays a visit to the street and stays at the Furry Arms Hotel. Buster the Horse, her biggest fan, tries to work up the nerve to talk to her. Once he does so, they have a conversation and share a meal at Hooper's Store. Despite her running speed, everything else she does is very slow.
Summer is recycled from the generic horse puppet previously used for Duke (with modified eyes). The character is named after the real race horse Summer Squall, who ran in the 1990 Kentucky Derby. The idea for the character and her romance with Buster had been suggested by Martin P. Robinson a few seasons prior.[1]
