Susan Watson in 1969's Celebration

Susan Watson (b. 1938) is an actress and singer, primarily in stage musicals. In 1971, while playing the title role in the Broadway revival of No, No, Nanette, she appeared in Sesame Street Episode 0264 as Laura, a friend of Gordon. She participates in the street's activities and even sings a duet with Oscar the Grouch.

Watson played Velma in the 1958 West End production of West Side Story and played Louisa in an early one-week production of The Fantasticks in 1959 (returning for a 1964 Hallmark Hall of Fame TV version). She made her Broadway debut in Bye By Birdie, originating the role of Kim McAfee, and was a replacement as Lili in Carnival (and starred in a national tour). Subsequent musicals included Ben Franklin in Paris, A Joyful Noise, and Celebration, while also appearing in the 1970 revival of the straight play Beggar on Horseback.

Watson did some television in the 60s between Broadway engagements, on The Bell Telephone Hour and in an episode of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, and returned to TV as a character actress in 80s and 90s series Dallas, Newhart, St. Elsewhere, Wings, and various TV movies. She returned to Broadway for the 2011 revival of Follies (as Emily Whitman). She released two CDs of Broadway tunes, in 2007 and 2016 respectively.
