Illustration Style[]
Just wondering --- why was the note about the illustation style of this book removed? I've been trying to note that mainly because some of the books feature the characters looking the way that they do on the TV show, while others features them illustrated generally in the same way as the rest of the book. Should I be phrasing it a different way? Agent0042 05:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, George -- sorry, I should have asked about it rather than just removing it, but it was late and I was tired. I took it out because it looked like point of view to me: "This book is illustrated entirely in an original style." Maybe I didn't understand what you meant. What does "original style" mean? -- Danny Toughpigs 12:54, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Well, as I was trying to get at above, what I'm trying to say when I say this in reference to a Bear in the Big Blue House book is that there are generally two different styles they use in them. In some of them, the characters look just like they do on the show. In others, however, the look of the characters is the same as the rest of the book. Agent0042 03:03, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- I think that's the part that's confusing Danny, and myself come to that. What do you mean by "the look of the characters is the same as the rest of the book?" One would expect characters to look the same throughout the book. Are you saying that the illustration style further exaggerates or otherwise takes liberties with how the characters appear on the series *and* in other books, or are you trying to draw a contrast between the use of posers/photos and illustrations? Maybe some scans would help, but right now, the statement doesn't make much sense to me. --Andrew, Aleal 03:11, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- I think what you said about the use of posers/photos and illustrations is what I'm trying to say, yeah. As for an example, I just thought of Amazon's "Search Inside" feature. Just take a look at Amazon's page for this book. Check the Excerpt and I think you'll see what I'm getting at. Agent0042 04:14, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
- This is a very simple thing -- one set of books uses photos in the illustrations, and the other is fully illustrated. George, could you change the book descriptions to use those kinds of words? -- Danny Toughpigs 03:23, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, I'll get on that ASAP. Not tonight, though. :) Agent0042 04:26, 25 April 2006 (UTC)
- 'K, how's that? Agent0042 02:41, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
