Name[]
It occurred to me that Sesame Street Unpaved mentions that the precursor to Cookie Monster was called Arnold but was created for an unaired series of potato chip commercials, with no mention of what company. We know that the Wheels, Crowns and Flutes commercials were unaired, but the mosnter was called Wheel-Stealer, and assuming it's the one from the Ed Sullivan Show appearance, that one's obviously a different puppet. So I'm wondering, aside from that mention in Sesame Street Unpaved, are there any sources for this one being called Arnold (name heard on-screen, somebody having access to scripts or storyboards, personal correspondence, etc.)? --Minor muppetz 04:08, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
Voices[]
What's the source for Jerry Juhl as Arnold? I know this was discussed when the spots were on YouTube, and the second commercial clearly wasn't Henson, but do we have a source for Juhl, or just that it sounds like him? I ask less because I doubt it's him, but because of the year range. Were the commercials only produced in 1969? How do we know which Arnold voice came first? - I'm taking the performer box out, because we don't have a source. -- Danny (talk) 22:37, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Miss Kitty?[]
Sometime ago I was watching the TMS Season One set, and it appears that the puppet used for Arnold was also used for Miss Kitty. Both have the same hands and body, and their mouths and heads have the same shape. Does anybody else see how the two may be the same puppet?
My theory is that they used Arnold's eyes and used them for the 1969 Cookie Monster (used for the computer-eating sketches) and dyed that puppet blue, while they used the Arnold puppet for future projects. -- MuppetDude 18:10, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
