Because Elmo can't make the leap of logic. Literally, Elmo says "Why would Elmo want to talk to a cactus to learn more about plants, flowers, and trees?" He's utterly unaware that cacti are plants. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 12:58, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
