Original Figurines[]

We received the Elmo's Neighborhood set in probably 2001; in 12 shipments from Reader's Digest. Each shipment came with a plastic figurine. Our books are long-gone, but today we found several of the toys. Does anyone know about these? Is there another wikia page about them? I'd love to know what I'm missing.

We have found:

  • Elmo
  • Oscar the Grouch
  • Big Bird
  • Cookie Monster
  • Zoe
  • Ernie
  • Bert
  • Telly

And I remember there are (around here somewhere):

  • Grover
  • Baby Natasha

So that leaves two. One may have been the little black puppy featured in the books, though I'm not positive, and for the life of me I can't remember who the other was. I want to say Prairie Dawn, but I just can't picture her. It could have been anybody, really. Any ideas? Am I right on the little black puppy? - Thanks -- TheDreamlandTree (talk) 06:50, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Oh, that's interesting! Would you happen to be able to post a photo of the set, so that we have visuals to go by when searching for these under (assumably) Sesame Street PVC Figures? — Julian (talk) 10:35, March 30, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks to Maura, we now have Elmo's Neighborhood Figurines (Reader's Digest Young Family). I especially like that Telly sculpt! :) — Julian (talk) 18:50, March 30, 2011 (UTC)

Original copyright[]

I am looking at the 2010 reissues of this series; the copyright is 1998,2010 for "1-2-3 Sesame Street" and "The Fix-It Shop"; however "Sesame Street Firehouse" lists 2001,2010. I have some more of the 2009 paperback reissues that I can check tomorrow. Does anyone have the original series to confirm that the Reader's Digest was published in 2001, and possibly check if it also lists some earlier copyright dates for some of the books?? -- Wendy (talk) 04:17, March 26, 2011 (UTC)

Ok. I checked the 2009 copies I have also. The only other discrepant date is (oddly enough) The Hair Salon, which gives 2000, 2009 for the copyright. Of the ones listed, the only reissue I don't have a copy of is the Police Station one. Worldcat confirms the 2000 date for the Reader's Digest version of that book. Oddly it gives 1999 for Hooper's Store (confirmed by listings at Alibris) which gives 2001 in the reissue. Weird. I'm gonna believe Worldcat I think. -- Wendy (talk) 00:28, March 27, 2011 (UTC)
