There is a film segment after Elmo announces the subject of this particular episode, which shows various students playing the melody that is used in the songs "ABC," "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep." It starts out with a young black boy with a mohawk playing a piano ("A-B-C-D-E-F-G"), then to a black girl with braids playing a violin ("H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P"), then to some white children playing recorders ("Q-R-S, T-U-V"), and then to another group of white children playing kazoos ("W-X, Y and Z"), and then to yet another group of white children singing "La-la-la" ("Now I know my ABC's), and closes out with a school orchestra doing the part set to ("Next time won't you sing with me?").
