Integration before or after Jason?[]
This article suggests it was Jason's birth that spurred Emily to write scripts with disabled children, yet the NYT article on her suggests she did at least a few before Jason was born. Am I reading the NYT article right? -- Zanimum 17:25, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not sure you read the second page of the NYT article: "It was the new mainstreaming, and the introduction it brought for young children to peers with physical and mental disabilities, that caused Sesame Street to attempt to ease the transition by including youngsters in the regular activities of the show." That implies an increase in the use and treatment of disabled children (that is, as part of the regular activity, not in special segments). I also don't think the article here is making the claim you think it does (doesn't say anything about the birth, just that her "experiences" with him specifically was a factor in the use of Tarah Schaeffer as a full-time cast member). I'm rewording it to make it clearer, though, based on other interview information. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 01:11, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
