Cher?[]

IMDB claims that Debbie Harry replaced Cher for this episode. I know IMDB is VERY frequently unreliable, but is there any truth to this at all? It would be an interesting note for the page if it were. --Justin 03:26, February 3, 2010 (UTC)

Just noticed this from Cher's page: "Cher was announced as an upcoming guest star for The Muppet Show season four in The Muppet Show Fan Club Newsletter Volume Two, Number Two. However, she never appeared." Could this possibly be the episode she was to appear in? --Justin 03:27, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
If she was announced for the fourth season, that makes it unlikely, given this was a season later, and it also seems unlikely that the cancellation was last minute or a script substitution for a specific episode (the only confirmed instance of that kind concerns the Chris Langham episode, which is widely sourced and also makes sense since he didn't have to be booked or flown over or whatnot and wrote much of the material). All IMDb trivia claims are user added, so it's possible someone in fact added it based on that tidbit on the Cher page, making a wild leap. It also surfaces on assorted Muppet Central threads, as far back as 2004, but again no source and it sounds like someone just misremembered the fan club announcement. So we ignore it unless we can actually find a quote or other solid source connecting Cher to Debbie Harry, but right now it seems like fan memories or assumptions. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:46, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
Groozy. Thanks, Andrew. --Justin 03:51, February 3, 2010 (UTC)
This is just a guess (however I think it's a pretty good guess) - I think Diana Ross was the last minute replacement for Cher. Ross, Alan Arkin and Doug Henning don't appear in the above newsletter; Cher, Robin Williams and Senor Wences do and I think it's easy to work out who replaced who.
