Should This Reference Count?

There is one epsidoe of Garfield and Friends that I think has a Muppet reference, though it is going by memory (but every epsiode has been released on DVD, so if anybody has this episode they can check it out). It's in the epsidoe "Mistakes Can Hapen", which features a numbe rof mistakes made on purpose. I recall that in one scene Jon cals Garfield Kermit. I don't know if it would or should count. Jon just called him "Kermit", with no "the Frog" attached, and Kermit the Frog obviously isn't the first person with that name, but by the time of the series I'm sure that Kermit was no longer a common name. --Minor muppetz 17:15, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Mark Evanier, the head writer of Garfield and Friends, was a HUGE Muppet fan (and a big Stan Freberg fan also). He's very accessible online. [1] He even met Jim once. [2] I personally think that would be safe to assume as a reference, but clicking over to ask him looks pretty easy. (I'm not particularly a Garfield fan, so I haven't done it myownself.) He is, from my recollections of his posts many moons ago in a Freberg fan mailing list, an incredibly nice and open guy. -- Mark (talk) 23:17, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
