Dates[]
There's been a lot of chopping and changing of dates in this article, spread out so it's generally gone unnoticed, but I think it should be addressed. Checking the history, Guillermo, who is generally a reliable source on these things, initially wrote that Gladys debuted "around 1973" but with no name until 1976. Dean (generally unreliable) changed the debut date to 1971. Tony changed the date for her name to 1977, and just now, Danny W. changed it to 1974. Is there any reputable source (specific episodes, print references) for any of these, not just guesswork? Otherwise, I'd suggest we just take it out entirely. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 17:37, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

A couple of questions[]
- Why is Gladys the Cow in the "Westerns" category? I would understand classifying particular segments with Gladys in them as Westerns, but the character herself? That's like classifying Prairie Dawn under "Alphabet" because she appears in the Letter of the Day Games. [Thank you, Andrew, for editing the category tags in this article!]
- The article states "She has appeared with Old MacDonald to encourage a healthy diet, including of course, milk." That seems ironic considering a street story on one 90s episode: Susan is following a diet which includes four glasses of milk per day. After several other characters remind her of that rule, Gladys passes by; Susan quickly assumes that the cow is there to give another reminder. Gladys retorts, "You can drink four glasses of grapefruit juice, for all I care! Really now...just because I'm a cow, people think the only thing on my mind is mmmmilk!"

"Gladys the Cow is the most famous of Sesame Street's many cows"...much more accurate, especially for a cow with a diva complex. I can still remember her taking advantage of Kermit's lecture about being a stage manager:
- "4, 3, 2, 1...action!"
- "What's that again, Kermit?"
- "I said, '4, 3, 2, 1...ACTION!"
- "That's my cue!" [...for Gladys to begin a song-and-dance number: "By the Light of the Silvery Moon"]
