Cheryl's Sesame Street cameo
It could be me, but does Cheryl appear in this screenshot, standing nearest to Lynne Thigpen, by the monitor? ---- Jesse (talk) 02:21, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

This comes from the "People in Your Neighborhood" Sesame Street View-Master reels. For a while, I thought the woman looked like Cheryl Henson, and would have made some sense since I knew she did some various art direction in the 80s. But with the new scanner I picked up which can do photo slides, I can see her face closer than I could before using just the ViewMaster, and now I'm thinking not so much. Anyone else? โScott (talk) 04:54, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, it's iffy. I can definitely see a passing resemblance, but it's not conclusive or obvious. Plus, in the early 1980s, an actual female photographer, Nancy Moran, was heavily involved in things like ViewMaster reels and album covers (usually general Muppet stuff though and not Sesame), so theoretically, it could just as easily be her (I can't find a picture online). I'm trying to think if there's anyone in the know who we could ask about this, but this could be too esoteric or something only the folks who worked specifically on that shoot could answer, and I'm assuming the reel package doesn't include any credits or info (when such images were used for The Sesame Street Treasury, they were credited only to "View-Master International Group"). I'm generally fine with consensus based on visuals, this seems like one that would best be confirmed by the house's mouth, as it's rather close to "Jim was Doc Hopper's Henchman" or "Fran Brill was in Muppets Take Mahattan" territory. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 05:21, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
- True. It's happened before. Also, it's an incredibly nifty image anyway. If we could resize it or trim, it would look great on the main page. I'm vastly amused by the general idea that Bert and Ernie can't have their formal photograph taken until the bowler hats are in place. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 05:29, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
