These are the exact same figures as the Schleich Muppet Babies, produced in West Germany in 1985. At least, that's what the copyright marks on my figures say... Does anyone have pictures of the Maia Borges copyright mark? (Apparently, Maia & Borges is a Portugese company that produces figures for export to West Germany...) -- Jogchem 11:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

:I don't have a picture of the copyright, but in my journeys through pvc-world I've seen figures (Muppet & Muppet Babies actually) listed variously as Schleich, Maia & Borges for Schleich, and Maia & Borges; I've also seen it as just Portugal or just Germany. It's never been clear to me whether they exported everything to West Germany via Schleich or sold some of it themselves. Because of the multiplicity of the claims I've assumed the latter.

:However even if they did sell them under their own name one could argue that the need for a separate page is not great as the figures are identical, and Schleich and M&B could be merged. -- Wendy (talk) 00:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Schleich

These are the exact same figures as the Schleich Muppet Babies, produced in West Germany in 1985. At least, that's what the copyright marks on my figures say... Does anyone have pictures of the Maia Borges copyright mark? (Apparently, Maia & Borges is a Portugese company that produces figures for export to West Germany...) -- Jogchem 11:33, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

I don't have a picture of the copyright, but in my journeys through pvc-world I've seen figures (Muppet & Muppet Babies actually) listed variously as Schleich, Maia & Borges for Schleich, and Maia & Borges; I've also seen it as just Portugal (the last lot I found in fact). It's never been clear to me whether they exported everything to West Germany via Schleich or sold some of it themselves. Because of the multiplicity of the claims on the M&B/Portugal name I've assumed the latter.
However even if they did sell them under their own name one could argue that the need for a separate page is not great as the figures are identical, and Schleich and M&B could be merged. -- Wendy (talk) 00:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
