Okay, I know I've been going a little overboard with the discussions but I just noticed this; Is Marty supposed to be based off of Marty Feldman? He facially resembles Feldman, and is even named Marty. -- Jon (talk) 02:50, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
- That's a neat comparison but it just looks like coincidence, with how the eyes were placed. Feldman wasn't even known in the US, to the general public and likely to the Sesame folk, until the later 1970s, so I rather doubt that Caroly Wilcox or whoever was doing Anything Muppet faces at the time did it deliberately. That image would look nice on a disambig page though, heh. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 03:57, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
- Ha, I thought you would like that! But yeah, while I admit I didn't read that much into his filmography when I initially made the comparison, I had a suspicion afterwards that it probably wasn't an intentional reference (of course, the sketch Marty appeared in was made a few years shy of Young Frankenstein). -- Jon (talk) 07:29, February 20, 2012 (UTC)

Just noting this. Although this page is a primary candidate for deletion, there's at least a YouTube video of the sketch (dubbed in Arabic). Based on the puppetry alone, I'd say it's Jim Henson performing Marty. Hopefully someone can confirm, or we can note the performer when the original English version is available. -- Jon (talk) 02:14, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
