Shalom Sesame videos[]

Paul posted this page today, which is very cool. I think that this, and the other Shalom Sesame videos, might belong in Sesame Street Video as well as International Sesame Street Video.

The Shalom Sesame videos and DVDs are published in America for VHS and Region 1, and they're carried by Amazon and other American retailers. It's a similar situation to the Sesame Street Playground CD, which is in both Sesame Street Albums and International. Anybody have thoughts?

Also, there seems to be some weirdness about this Oofnik DVD. The SISU Entertainment site lists it as being available, but the Amazon listing says it's been "discontinued by the publisher". Other retailers say it's backordered, or that it'll be in stock on February 24, 2009. Netflix says that they have it, but with a "Very Long Wait" -- unusual for a kids' DVD.

So -- is it out yet, or not? -- Danny (talk) 21:31, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

This isn't actually a Shalom Sesame video, though, it's the recent revival of Rechov Sumsum (they're not the same, really); still, if it's a Region 1 release, I'd agree with double categorizing (a friend of mine in Israel has seen the same DVD for retail, although without the English lettering of course and in a different region; this seems to just be a US reissue). It does seem quite possible that the US version has been either pushed back on the schedule or quietly canceled; the date on all sites is December 30, 2008, so a few days later, it could still go either way. I think we'll have to do a wait and see and check as many sources as possble on this one. The Sesame Workshop store may be one of our better bets in this case (they don't have it listed yet, but naturally, they seem to keep better tabs on what's actually in print). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 22:18, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, I'll put it in the In Development category for now... -- Danny (talk) 03:45, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
