Hooper in '83[]

This article says that "Mr. Hooper was the elderly storekeeper on Sesame Street from 1969 until 1982." While it's true that Will Lee passed away in December 1982, Mr. Hooper continued to be seen running the store into early 1983 with the airing of segments and episodes that were in production prior to Lee's death. We tend to chronicle the in-universe fictional history of Sesame Street via air dates (not production dates), so it technially Mr. Hooper didn't die until sometime in '83. So should it say "Mr. Hooper was the elderly storekeeper on Sesame Street from 1969 until 1983."? -- Brad D. (talk) 15:21, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I think that makes sense. —Scott (talk) 15:23, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Last show[]

I think it may be a good idea to list the last known show Mr. Hooper appeared in during his lifetime, for those who might be interested. If there was a storyline based around it, that might be important to add. I presume he did appear in a few episodes during the 1982-1983 season, with some of those episodes taped shortly before his death (and airing shortly afterwards, likely in early 1983). I agree, that would be interesting to know. Unfortunately, I don't know if any of us have access to that information right now. We might discover it in the future. -- Danny (talk) 01:21, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, good luck in finding the information; I'm sure it'll turn up somewhere. [[Briguy52748 23:13, 19 December 2006 (UTC)]]
Will Lee taped his final segments as Mr. Hooper in November of 1982 (I don't know which episodes these were). And yes some of the footage didn't air until after Lee was dead. After wjocj the character just kind of "disappeared". The death of Hooper/Lee would not be explained, or really even alluded to, on camera until Episode 1839. -- Brad D.
