We now have a screenshot of Whoopi's spot, which was originally sourced by Oddharmonic. The same reliable editor who added Natalie Portman. Just wanted to cite this here in case it came into question. We also now have all episodes accounted for (with only a screenshot missing for Nancy Kaplan, episode 4061). Dennis Franz and Donny Osmond have screenshots, but no episode number. Their spots appeared online, and may have been on other accounted for episodes as aired in different markets or as repeats. It's notable to point out that some of our screenshots have the 35th Anniversary logo on them; the ones that do not were used as teasers for episodes that aired in repeats after the anniversary celebration was over. —Scott (message me) 11:54, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

Number of spots

Did some episodes feature more than one segment or did they continue to use these cold openings outside of season 35? Because I count 31 segments listed here, but season 35 only had 26 episodes. So either 5 of these segments did not air, or they were doubled-up for some episodes, or they were used in the next season, or maybe these bits varied depending on the affiliate station, or they were changed for re-airings of particular episodes. We have 8 segments listed here without episodes (2 of which have pictures), but only 3 episodes (4061, 4063, 4065) are missing from the list. I don't know, but something doesn't add up here -- 31 cold openings but only 26 episodes. -- Brad D. (talk) 00:33, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

When I formatted this page some months ago, I found that my copies didn't match up with what had been added here before. Most of the ones we don't have pictures for were added by a trusted user who hasn't been around in a while. I've tried reaching out to her by other means, but I have no reason to believe that her information is not correct. I suspect that they recorded more than the number of episodes they knew they had, and the local stations swapped them out regionally and for later broadcasts. It's also of note that some spots (such as Cher) have a 35 Anniversary logo on them where the others don't. It's plausible that these were added when the episodes aired alongside later seasons so as not to confuse the intent of the speaker. —Scott (talk) 20:04, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

missing spots

I'm missing segments from the following episodes.

Anyone have these and can fill in who appeared in the opening segment? —Scott (talk) 03:42, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

I found the opening segments for Episode 4062 and one to Episode 4064. — Steven (talk) 08:45, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Here's a source for a few of the celebrities listed without a description [1]. I have all of season 35 recorded, but some of these segments were clipped off thanks to my DVR. I'll try to add descriptions where I can. —Scott (talk) 19:19, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Fitting category?

Does this really belong in Behind the Scenes? I would think it'd go under some sort of Inserts or Appearances collection or something. Just throwing it out there. Scooter 19:18, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Good catch! I moved it to Sesame Street Sketches. It's a weird fit there too, but it's better than BTS. -- Danny (talk) 15:50, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to thank my local affiliate...

I tuned into my local PBS affiliate earlier this week to start catching Elmo's World segments I hadn't summarized yet and found they're replaying Season 35. Hopefully I'll be adding to this each weekday for awhile. Woo hoo! -- Melissa (talk) 16:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
