more Sonny for your buck[]

Couldn't we cover this (and isn't it mostly already) on Sonny Friendly? β€”Scott (talk) 21:10, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

I hadn't seen this, and it's something else to add to Muppet Wiki:Policies and Guidelines. Some of it can be seen at Category talk:Character Variants (with other statements from Talk:Boppity Through the Years), but the general consensus was to limit character evolution pages to notable characters with notable developments (i.e. more than three). Looking around, at Talk:Hoots the Owl Through the Years, there was a definite consensus on that score, and a list of pages mentioned for deletion; only Hoots was nuked because it was attached to the page ([[Ma Gorg Through the Years]], for example, had all the info and images merged onto Ma Gorg but nobody remembered to nuke the page, same for [[Boppity Through the Years]] and Zoot Through the Years, though I suppose an argument could be made for Zoot if someone wanted to re-open it; I'm going to go ahead and delete "Boppity," since most of the images have homes, the name was questioned, and the whole thing merged into Frackles anyway). The first two shown, in fact, are pretty much the same puppet and the claim that it switched from a smaller Lavender to a Large Lavender Live Hand isn't borne up by the visuals or any other source, so it becomes guesswork. In any event, it was definitely agreed upon as a Wiki policy not to create any more pages like that (and as that policy page develops, we'll make sure that this and any others are stated clearly so newer users aren't confused). Here's the shorthand summary, as Danny put it (and everyone who chimed in agreed with): "pages are really meant for major characters who have gone through a lot of changes, like Kermit or Fozzie." (Obviously a few more can qualify, but not Sonny Friendly, not Guy Smiley, and not random Frackles or Minstrels and the like). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 21:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
