While sprucing up the Mad Painter page, having snagged a video I could screengrab, I went ahead and swapped a new image of Stockard Channing from those sketches, and moved The West Wing image and quote to the page for that show. I'll leave it to the arbiters of page layout to decide whether this looks all right, or whether the thing should be reverted, and pic should go on the Painter page (I didn't fancy two images from the same sketch on that page, though, and two of Stockard here would mess up the page). --Andrew, Aleal 23:47, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
Does Stockard Channing really belong in the Sesame Street Cast category, based on playing the number painter's victim? I'm leaning toward "no". PrawnRR 18:40, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- That was my doing. It seemed logical at the time, though admittedly the role was tertiary. It does raise an interesting question in general, however. How large does a recurring role have to be to be listed in the Sesame Street cast list, or should that category be reserved for only players in the main "street" story? Where would the number painter himsel (Paul Benedict, yet to be added) belong? (He's also one of those performers who I'd be hesitant to categorize, at least not by itself, under Celebrities, without any other category to explain his inclusion, as his role was hardly in the nature of a special appearance, and his fame is that of a category actor, resting at best on having played Mr. Bentley on "The Jeffersons," though that may arguably be sufficient.)
- I recently added Andrea Martin to that category, for playing Wanda the Word Fairy in inserts. Should she be limited to celebrities? And what about the Noodles? Curiously, Bill Irwin and Kristin Chenoweth are both listed that way, perhaps most contentious with regard to the latter who I'd thought was used mainly in specials/videos and possibly rare appearances, but nothing for Michael Jeter?
- I don't particularly care either way regarding Ms. Channing, but as the Wiki grows, it could be an interesting issue in general. (I'm still puzzled by where to put poor Gerry Parkes, currently adrift). --Andrew, Aleal 21:26, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to go ahead and take our friend Stockard out of the Sesame category, but I think this is worth talking about on the current events page. -Ryan R PrawnRR 21:53, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
