Dave Goelz source

The improvements made to this page are fantastic; huge props to Andrew!

I added the info about Dave Goelz when I created the page in October '06... At this point, I have no recollection of where I got the info from. Does anybody have an idea? I should have put a reference in. -- Danny (talk) 16:06, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Apparently, nobody knows, so I'm parking it here for future reference... "One notable event occurred during the taping of the special: Dave Goelz auditioned for Jim Henson to work with the Muppets." -- Danny@fandom (talk) 20:05, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
They mention it in the Muppet Morsels. Apparently, Dave worked on the Morsels, so it's most likely true. (Now, if I could only remember the episode, but it was during a Gonzo-centered bit, I think. ---- Jesse (talk) 01:17, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
I can't check my DVD now, but it's on disc 2 of season 1. I'm thinking the Charles Aznavour episode, but I could be wrong. ---- Jesse (talk) 21:01, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

I spent some time expanding this page and doing some research, and frankly, I'd like to split this up or at least rename. Frankly, as it stands, The Perry Como Show isn't very accurate as far as contents go. It covers two shows featuring Perry Como, neither of which actually held that title. One is an episode of his regular series, then called Perry Como's Kraft Music Hall (I've verified this via the Museum of Broadcast Communications database, the Perry Como Collection list at the University of Colorado, and others). The second is a special, The Perry Como Winter Show. I know the Kraft Music Hall info is sketchy right now, but as it stands, I'm linking to pages all over related to The Perry Como Winter Show but calling it The Perry Como Show. True, they share a star, a Christmas theme/timing, and a sponsor, but it feels to me like lumping several Bob Hope specials onto a single page and just calling it The Bob Hope Show on a whim. Any objections to breaking this off? (And no doubt, eventually, we can expand details on the Kraft Music Hall version of the reindeer sketch; the show doesn't seem to be in circulation but I believe the Paley Media Center has it in both locations). -- Andrew Leal (talk)

I think a split is a good idea. —Scott (talk) 22:07, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
