disambiguation[]

I think this was fine as Turkey (Sesame Street). It's a Sesame Street character who appeared at least once on the show (even if the more prominent appearance was elsewhere). β€”Scott (talk) 06:45, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

I moved it precisely because, in a Toughpigs article, Joe referred to it as "The Turkey, from Sesame Street. This little guy was eaten by Grover. I haven't seen this episode, but it's still a pretty good guess." The picture and the disambig were misleading, so if someone like Joe made that error, it's reasonable other casual visitors who didn't read the article closely enough would make the same mistake. He was a background extra on Sesame, so looking at the article, that would make adding the category appropriate, but it's still confusing as a disambig since the article's image and emphasis is on his outside guest spot. So I think the move avoids any such confusion in the future. I know you like universe labeling, Scott, but the point of disambiguation should be accuracy first, and if it's proven to have misled people to the point of spreading inaccurate claims on other websites, I think that's a pretty good reason to fix it. Alternately, we could get a decent screengrab of the extra appearance in the "Birds" appearance and move the Emeril stuff further down and gallery-ize the curent picture; the one background spot isn't very interesting, but it would make it clearer to visitors at first glance why "Turkey (Sesame Street)" is used. As it stood, it invited the assumption, "It says 'Turkey (Sesame Street)'. Here's a picture of a turkey in a chef's hat with Grover. Erego, this turkey appeared on Sesame Street with Grover! No need to read further." The article was originally labeled as "Turkey (Emeril Live)" anyway for a full year (and "Turkey (Emeril)" before that), prior to being moved in July 2007. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 17:46, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
