Tavra, born Katavra, was the princess of the Vapra Clan in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
She lived in Ha'rar with her older and younger sisters Brea and Seladon and her mother, the All-Maudra. After being captured by the Skeksis in an effort to liberate Gurjin from the Castle, Tavra was used as the Gelfling figurehead of the Arathim Ascendancy and placed under the control of a Threader. When the Arathim discovered the Skeksis's plans of betrayal and sided with the Gelflings, Tavra regained some of her individuality, but was still connected to the spider hivemind. Tavra was killed by SkekSil in the episode "The Crystal Calls."

As with many of the characters in Age of Resistance, Tavra was first introduced in Shadows of the Dark Crystal.
In the young adult novel Tides of the Dark Crystal, Tavra's relationship with the Sifa Far-Dreamer, Onica, was revealed. Tavra and Onica hid their relationship because Tavra's mother, All-Maudra Mayrin, disapproved of her daughter's romance with a Sifa. Additionally, the storyline of Tavra being controlled by the Arathim plays out differently, with her body slowly dying from a partial essence draining and the spider controlling her being the main thing keeping her alive. When Naia's party finds that the spider-controlled Tavra has been leading them into a trap, Kylan is able to use a special dream-etching technique to switch the conciousnesses of Tavra and the spider. This saves Tavra's life at the cost of her original body, though she is still able to dreamfast and appear as her original self in dreamspace.
