Taxi is a sitcom about New York City cab drivers, which ran on ABC from 1978 to 1982, and on NBC from 1982 to 1983. It was an example of the working class ensemble sitcom of its period, leading to the likes of Cheers.

- In a 2021 interview, Dave Goelz explained that when playing Digit on The Jim Henson Hour, he based the voice and partially the personality on the burn-out Reverend Jim (played by Christopher Lloyd) on Taxi.[1]
