Teodorina Bello as Aunt Mercedes singing "No Matter What Your Language" to Telly Monster
Teodorina Bello is a Puerto Rican actress who appeared on Sesame Street in 1993, playing Maria's aunt Mercedes (one of many visiting relatives in Episode 3066).
Bello began her film and TV career in the 1970s, with supporting roles in The Possession of Joel Delaney (with Michael Hordern), Law and Disorder, and Seeds of Evil (aka The Gardener), plus TV appearances on Kojak and soap operas like Search for Tomorrow and The Secret Storm. While also doing stage work, she became more active on-screen from the nineties onward, with usually small parts in Quick Change (with Geena Davis), Presumed Innocent (with Raul Julia), Ransom (with Mel Gibson), A Price Above rubies (with Julianna Margulies), Freedomland (with Julianne Moore), Wedding Daze (with Jason Biggs), and Choke (with Sam Rockwell).
Later TV credits include appearances on Gotham, Mr. Robot, and The Village and recurring on Amazon Prime's The Tick (as Ouma).
