The Aveggies are a Sesame Street parody of the Marvel superhero team, The Avengers. They first appeared in the Cookie's Crumby Pictures segment, "The Aveggies: Age of Bon-Bon." In the segment, the group relies on Dr. Brownie (played by Cookie Monster) and his power to turn big and green to thwart Bon Bon from destroying the world's healthy vegetables. Dr. Brownie's teammates offer strategies to distract him from his insatiable appetite and stay focused on his mission.
Three of the Aveggies (namely Onion Man, Captain Americauliflower, and The Mighty Corn) reassembled for a Word of the Day segment with Samuel L. Jackson, who himself dons a pepper eye patch (a la Nick Fury). Abby Cadabby joins the group as "Incredi-broccoli." (YouTube)
