The French film L'Ours was released in the United States as The Bear, one year after its French premiere. The film follows a bear cub and an adult male bear in 1885 British Columbia, Canada, who are hunted by humans.
In addition to live bear actors Bart the Bear and Youk the Bear, Jim Henson's Creature Shop provided animatronic bears for certain scenes.
