The Musicians of Sesam on Sesamstrasse

"The Bremen Town Musicians" ("Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten") is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm, using the German city of Bremen in its title. In English, it is also variously known as "The Brementown Musicians," "The Bremen-town Musicians," and "The Town Musicians of Bremen."

The story concerns four farm animals (a donkey, dog, cat, and rooster) who lose their homes and seek to become musicians. They find a house occupied by robbers and succeed in scaring away the thieves and gaining the home's comforts for themselves.

Adaptations include a silent Walt Disney short, a Richard Scarry version, and a 1997 German animated feature (released in Europe by Warner Bros.) The actual city of Bremen erected a bronze statue of the musicians in 1953.
