The Clearwater Concert: Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Leaders was a one night only concert held on May 3, 2009 in honor of Pete Seeger's 90th Birthday.
The event, which featured performances by Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, Emmylou Harris, Arlo Guthrie, Ani Difranco, Joan Baez and more was held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The concert benefited the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, an organization founded by Seeger to preserve and protect the Hudson River.
Oscar the Grouch appeared at the benefit and sang "Garbage" with Tom Chapin.
Portions of the concert aired on PBS as part of their series Great Performances.
