The Count's Storybook Theatre today presents the story of "Countilocks and the Twenty Rabbits."
In the story, Countilocks (played by the Count) strolls through the woods counting trees while on her way to visit the cottage of her friends, the Three Bears (whom she loves to count). At the door instead is the matriarch of the Rabbit family, who bought the house from the Three Bears after they moved to Florida.
Countilocks is dismayed, wondering what she can count now. Mama Rabbit suggests her own family, since even she's not sure how many there are. Countilocks eagerly counts all the rabbit children who scurry out of the house. Including their mother, Countilocks counts 20 rabbits in all. In the end, she enjoys the new rabbit family more than the bears, because with each visit, there are more rabbits to count.
As the program ends, the Count teases the next story - "Counti Baba and the Forty Thieves."
