The Crown is a Netflix series depicting the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, with principal actors changing over seasons as the characters age.

- In The Muppets Take the Bowl (and again in The Muppets Take the O2), the Netflix service spoof Muppstream features The Frown, spoofing a poster for the first season in which Her Majesty faces off against Winston Churchill (with the respective text "Ruler" and "Leader.") In this case, it's Statler and Waldorf in similar poses, labeled "Grump" and "Grumpier" respectively.
- "The Frown" was again referenced as one of several shows that Fozzie Bear pitches to Scooter in the Muppets Now episode "Fever Pitch."
