The Daily Chronicle is a fictional American-based newspaper featured in The Great Muppet Caper. Mike Tarkanian is editor of the paper while Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear are the paper's crack investigative reporters (the news of the twins joining the paper's staff made the paper's front-page); Gonzo is a photographer.

- The prop newspapers used for the Daily Chronicle in the movie are reworked versions of The New York Times (down to the masthead slogan "All the News That's Fit to Print.") As a result, both use the header for the Wednesday, August 27th, 1980 edition, but with the date trimmed to "198." The first prop newspaper includes legible front page stories from the newspaper ("Poles Own Affair, Soviet Aide Affirms"), while the second prop has re-arranged and replaced the surrounding text again.
