- October 26, 1981 — On the show's 500th broadcast, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy made an appearance where they were interviewed in front of Big Ben via satellite. The two promoted Miss Piggy's Guide to Life and The Great Muppet Caper, screening clips of "The First Time It Happens" and Beauregard's taxi ride. Jim Henson and Frank Oz then appear to take some questions from Lane.
