The Early Bird was woken up at three in the morning by Cat Cora and Angelo on The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora episode "Breakfast Isn't Just For Breakfast Anymore", complaining with a lisp that they'll "wake up all the worms, you crazies!"
The puppet first appeared in The Muppet Show episode 510 as a generic bird during the number "Rockin' Robin" and in Jean-Pierre's dressing room with other birds. The bird was often seen as a background character on The Ghost of Faffner Hall.
The Early Bird resurfaced in The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted.
