The Fruit and Veggie Five are a quintet of healthy fruits and vegetables who appear in the 2007 Sesame Street resource video The Get Healthy Now Show. Although Elmo introduces them as such, the opening announcer in the video refers to the group as the "Not Yet Ripe Fruit and Vegetable Players," a reference to the "Not Quite Ready for Primetime Players" of Saturday Night Live.
After the Big Tomato fails to turn up to the show on time, the quintet of foods take the stage for a song about the importance of eating five healthy and colorful foods each and every day.
The group was performed by Kevin Clash (broccoli), Fran Brill (apple), Eric Jacobson (eggplant), Tyler Bunch (pineapple), and Joey Mazzarino (carrot).
