"The Future is Counting on You" is sung by Baby Rowlf (as Rowlfo) and his future grandson (in the persona of Lieutenant Woof) in the 1990 Muppet Babies episode "Muppet Babies: The Next Generation." Woof explains to his grandfather that the future looks so good because previous generations took such good care of the Earth.
Several sources of pollution are featured, such as smog-creating factories and garbage scows, which are painted away by the Babies, ensuring a better tomorrow. The point is made that everything we use originally came from the Earth; so treat it kindly, because "the future is counting on you."
