The Graeae were the three sisters of the Gorgons (notably Medusa). They had but one eye and one tooth among them. These were shared and the sisters took turns in using them. By stealing their eye while they were passing it between them, Perseus forced them to tell the whereabouts of their sister, Medusa, ransoming the seeing eye for the information. The lead Graeae, sight returned, mocks Perseus and laughingly calls out to her sister Medusa to warn of his coming.
The three Graeae were featured in The StoryTeller: Greek Myths episode "Perseus and the Gorgon". The word "Graeae" The individual names of the Graeae, not given in the episode, are identified by different Greek authors as Enyo, Pemphredo, and Deino.
